Pursuing God in relationships is an important part of discipleship. Small Groups provide an excellent opportunity to experience authentic community and spiritual growth. In addition to the groups listed here, several groups are hosted off-site, many in church members' homes. Adult study resources are available for you to borrow. Please visit our online library to see our collection of books and DVD studies. Then contact Michelle Hollie with your selection and she will check it out for you.

General Interest Groups

Koinonia
“Koinonia” is Greek for “communion by intimate participation.” The essential meaning of Koinonia embraces concepts of community, communion, joint participation, sharing and intimacy. CRC’s Koinonia class seeks the heart of Christ for this special kind of community of worship as demonstrated through ongoing Bible study. Strengthen your faith and deepen your spiritual path when you attend Koinonia. This is an ongoing study, and you may join this class at any time. Please bring your Bible.

The Roots: Basics of Christianity
New or Lifelong? Regardless of how long you've been a Christian, this 3-week course is for all who have questions about the basic beliefs of Christians.

2x2

2x2, a group for married couples, will return this fall with the 'not a fan' series.  Are you a fan or a follower?  How would things change if you lived as Jesus lived, and loved the way He loved? These questions will be answered in an 8 week church-wide campaign. We will focus on the calling of every Christian to truly follow Jesus Christ. “not a fan” is a challenge to look at your relationship with Jesus with fresh eyes, a movement toward a life of love and service in His name, and a journey that will deepen your relationship with Jesus and your friendships with His followers.

Knitters, Etc.

There is a dynamic group of women who gather each week not just for fun and fellowship but to make an impact in Jacksonville and the world!  Hats, scarves, miniature teddy bears, slippers, mittens, blankets and prayer shawls have made their way to China, Poland, Russia, Africa, Alaska and West Virginia.

Wednesday Night Group Series

Wednesday Nights @ CRC resume September 12 with a 'not a fan' groups series following dinner in the Connection Center. Are you a fan or a follower? Yo-God
Yo-God is a Christ-centered worship and exercise class. The class consists of stretching and toning exercises, worship music, scripture and prayerful meditation/relaxation. Yo-God is a worship class first; come prepared to "be still and know that He is God." As you place God first, all else follows, including a stronger, healthier body. Wear comfortable exercise clothes and bring a yoga mat.

Men's Group

Band of Brothers
The Band of Brothers men's gathering will return this fall with the 'not a fan' series. Are you a fan or a follower? How would things change if you lived as Jesus lived, and loved the way He loved? These questions will be answered in a 8-week church-wide campaign based on the Kyle Idelman's series 'not a fan'. Beginning September 11, we will focus on the calling of every Christian to truly follow Jesus Christ. 'not a fan' is a challenge to look at your relationship with Jesus with fresh eyes, a movement toward a life of love and service in His name, and a journey that will deepen your relationship with Jesus and your friendships with His followers.

Tuesday Morning Women's Group

The Women's Tuesday Morning bible study resumes September 11 with Jennifer Rothchild's Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn't Make Sense. Does God care? Is He fair? Is He even there? Although you may know all the right answers, they don't always feel right. Explore tough questions in this realistic look at the messy, mysterious uncertainties of faith. God's ways don't always make sense, but He is trustworthy. Trust Him more than your feelings. God will reveal Himself and fill in your missing pieces.

Spanish Language Tuesday Morning Group

Beginning Tuesday, August 21, this group will study Elizabeth George's Maria: Cultiva un Corazon Humilde (Mary: Nurturing a Heart of Humility). Mary, the mother of Jesus, exhibited courage and humility from the angel Gabriel’s announcement of God’s plan for her to the adversities presented by Christ’s work on earth. Women of all ages will discover how to sustain a humble spirit with overflowing prayer, hold God’s assurances deep within, and walk humbly through good times and bad with a heart fixed on God.
