“God created human beings;
      he created them godlike, reflecting God's nature.

      he created them male and female.”

      —Genesis 1:27 (The Message)

The Bible tells us that we all are bearers of God’s image. Yet as men and women, we bear that image in different ways. This new initiative in men’s ministry at CrossRoad Church is a work in progress. We’re seeking to explore what it means to be made in God’s image as a man; what does that mean for me in my relationships with others, in my work, and in how I spend my time?

Weekly Discussion Group

In 2012 our “Band of Brothers” group is moving to Wednesday nights at 6:15 p.m. at the church in Rm 219. This group is open for men to join at any time. We’re VERY excited about having dinner with the rest of our church family at 5:30 p.m. and are inviting any guys attending to join our fellowship.

On January 18, we'll be starting a study based on John Eldredge’s book Waking The Dead.

Here’s some info about the book: Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” That’s the offer of Christianity, from God Himself. Just look at what happens when people are touched by Jesus—the blind see, the lame walk, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life. In other words, to be touched by God is to be restored. To become all God meant you to be. That is what Christianity is supposed to do for you—make you whole, set you free, bring you fully alive.
But Jesus also said, just before the stunning promise noted above, that “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy”. He warned that the path to that life is narrow, and few people would find it. In other words, a battle is raging. And it is a battle for your heart.
• Things are not what they seem.
• This is a world at war.
• Each of us has a crucial role to play.
In his book Waking The Dead, Christian author John Eldredge shows us how God restores our hearts, our true humanity, and sets us free. There is so much more. Do you want it?

Men’s Service Ministry

We’ve formed a group of guys who volunteer their talents to assist those in our church and community who need assistance with such tasks as home handyman work and car repair. Email men@crcumc.org if you would like to get involved.
