Campus Crusade & Here's Life Inner City

Here's Life Inner City

Here's Life Inner City is the compassionate urban ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International. Here’s Life Inner City partners with churches, ministries, businesses, and a multitude of Jacksonville volunteers to provide hope and practical help for the poor of metropolitan Jacksonville, FL.

Here's Life Inner City's mission is to serve and mobilize the Church to live out God's heart for the poor, so all can grow in Christ and spiritually multiply.  Their desire is to respond to the needs expressed by inner-city churches and ministries of all Christian denominations.  Their resources are meant to strengthen the impact of these ministries for Christ, in both the short-term and long-term.

Boxes of Love

Every year, CrossRoad volunteers join with Here’s Life Inner City Jacksonville to pack Boxes of Love for families in the Jacksonville area who do not have the resources for a Thanksgiving meal.  The boxes are filled with the ingredients for a classic holiday meal - turkey, ham or chicken, stuffing, potatoes, canned vegetables, rice, beans, juice and desserts - as well as faith-based reading materials.

All the ingredients and preparation instructions are carefully packaged and delivered to families who would normally not be able to afford such a meal. This method of compassion preserves the dignity of the family and allows them to have a feast in their very own home.  It also provides the opportunity to connect and establish a relationship.

In 2011, 2,325 Boxes of Love were distributed at Thanksgiving to unchurched, needy families in the Jacksonville area. Thirty-four members from CrossRoad Church distributed 49 of these Boxes of Love in the Windy Hill Community and in the process shared Christ with 68 people and had 50 people receive Christ as Savior. We would love for you to help us deliver the boxes this year! More information about Boxes of Love 2012 will be available in the fall.
